8:30 AM – 1:30 PM The BioBlitz
A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. Together with scientists, families, students, teachers, and other community members we will get a biodiversity snapshot of the five acre site of Faith Temple Baptist Church in La Plata, Maryland. Volunteers invited from the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, local churches, schools, and community groups.

10:15 – 10:30 Break
10:30 – 12:15 Raising of the Nature's Revival “Farmmacy” Hoop House
We will construct a 30’ x 17’ green house covered with plastic sheeting, that will allow youth to grow native plants, nuts, and fruit trees. Planting native trees and plants enable environmental restorations such as rain gardens, tree planting and community related projects, so as to have a local source for acquiring plants for future projects in the vicinity.
12:15 – 12:45 Farm Fest Lunch
Musicians from local groups such as winners of the Charles County Got Talent Show and other local artists with provide entertainment. We anticipate food donations from local farms and other sources. This Farm Fest Lunch will be served to highlight the importance of buying and supporting local food producer and farmers.
With support from the University of Maryland School of Health, youth will conduct research on local farm and food history by interviewing guests using “PhotoVoice”, a community science tool
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Planting vegetable from seed, seedlings and native trees
Spring Clean-up and Planting vegetables, berries and native fruit trees in the existing community garden at Faith Temple. Special learning activities will be underway for small children as a part of our “Teens and Tots in the Garden” project sponsored in the past by Comcast Foundation.

The Nature’s Revival "Farmmacy" utilizes a “food as medicine” approach to combat high obesity rates, pre-diabetes, and diabetes by providing fresh, healthy vegetables and fruits to those most in need.
In addition to professional medical advice, a "farmmacy" helps with maintaining a proper diet. Gardening is an excellent form of exercise. working in gardens enable people to better manage their medical conditions through exercise and the consumption of fresh vegetables..
